I know there are numerous threads that have been posted about this but i can't find definitive answers to the following, would appreciate some advice:
1) Basically, I've found that i have been mis-informed through vaio-link (which in turn has meant they have skanked me out of £55 for replacing vaio zone software - but thats a different story!!) that the way to view my FS315Z thru a TV could only be done with vaio zone software. As they didn;t answer my original question correctly, they now tell me that i need to get a different video card to enable me to do this..(the documentation i got with my FS315Z also misleads the fact that you can't do this)
2) So, can anyone recommend what i need to get to enable me to do this? And will this let me view anything thats on my laptop screen through my tv (ie not just DVDs and Video files??) I can find loads of TV cards that let you tune in tv but i'm not interested in that...i simply want to be able to view whats on my laptop screen though a TV??
any pointers woudl be most gratefully rec'd as the vaio-link experience has been frankly pathetic to the point of scandalous (i'm taking that up with them seperately
reviews here and here
you can buy it here
I'd check with them to make sure that it does indeed have the video out though, as I believe they also released a cheaper model without the tv out, but the box looks the same, but it could be for illustration purposes only.
*edit*
while you are at it, I'd check what the tv out actually does... just incase
scrap that idea, looked at the faqs on comprousa website
8. Q: What does the S-VID-out do on the VideoMate Live?
A: VideoMate Live cannot output video from computer to other device. The video-out is bypass the video-in signal only.
