XPERIA X8 Issues

Hello Everybody,

     Is anyone experiencing some issues with the X8,

I have a few problems with the X8 which I list below.

1. Downloading MMS settings does not work.

2. Some operator messages cannot be replied to.

3. The Music player does not have Playlist!!! This is such a let down. I don't want to be scrolling all the time to play another song.

4. When the phone syncs with address book from Google it deleted the contacts!

5. In Call volume is low, and the slider displayed shows there is some more volume left but it wont move anymore.

6. Can the SW prevent crucial things from getting uninstalled. I mean there are some system apps that could be uninstalled thay may cause the phone to brick out.

7. No Alert Profile are available, either silent or audible. Nothing like discreet or extra loud.

8. The Keypad slows down so significantly when the message thread is a bit long. It gets annoying to type. Also Some words need to be unlearnt.

Am I missing something as to how the phone shold be configured or what?

Other than that, the phone is awesome, great value for money. Although I wouldn't mind paying for a much higher spec version in the same form factor. I love my X8 more than this X10 or X10miniPro.

hello..hi,..i'm the new user for x8..i have some issue with my x8,which is the wifi problem..the wifi signal show that the connection is already connected..but it is not linked to internet and it say that wifi signal is tottaly down but it is actually not..the wifi signal is work perfectly.secondly,the wifi connection is disconnected by itself after i connected it to the new other wifi signal and put the correct password too.how can i fixed this problem??

Hello, moderator ! I'm a new user of Sony Ericsson XPERIA 8. I'm still confused about the basic of the phone :-

1. Does XPERIA 8 have it's phone theme, like my previous phone, K510i ??? Because I can't find phone theme in my phone . . . .

2. I can't make a new folder in my phone. I can't organise my phone's media in my phone.

3. Does XPERIA 8 have additional language, like Japanese and Korean ? Can I type Japanese and Korean ???

4. As I knew, I still can charge my phone, connecting my phone to PC by using USB wire. But, the phone's battery totally not charged at all !

Can you tell me why is this happened ? I already plugged in and out for 3 times . . .  .

Hi, hope the following are the answers to your questions ....

1. Other than changing wallpaper (including live wallpaper), you are not able to change theme on an android phone. However, you could try a different launcher which allows you to customize how you want your phone to be (to a certain extend). Search Android Market for ADW Launcher, Launcher Pro, GO Launcher EX (and many more), try them out and select one that you prefer.

2. For this function, you need to get a File Manager app from Android Market. Have a look at ASTRO, LINDA and ES. With a File Manager, you will be able to access you phone and SD Card.

3. Open messaging app, tap New message, long press on the 'Write message' area, select Input method. See if the Korean or Japanese keyboard is available. If not, you should easily find one in Android Market.

4. To charge phone using PC/Laptop, connect phone to USB port on a PC/Laptop using USB cable, make sure you tap Charge phone. Refer to User Guide, page 13.

Hello, moderator, here we meet again ~

Have some minor issues regarding my phone, X8 . . .

1. Refering on my previous post at here, you had said that this phone don't have it's phone theme like K510i. I can only change it's user interface by download the free version of it at Android market. But, I want to change the phone's background color. Can I do that ?

2. As everyone know, every smartphone must have it's own phone memory and memory card. As I connect my phone to my PC, my PC only can detect X8's memory card, but can't detect phone's memory ! In my PC (I'm using Windows XP), "My Computer", it's "Devices with Removable Storage" section,

detected as CD Drive (F:) and PHONE's CARD (G:) or Removable Disk (G:), if my phone is being charged . . .

                                                     

Why my phone's memory is detected as "CD Drive (F:)" ??? The main problem is, I can't click into it !!!

Is there any problem with my phone or USB connection ???? I'm confused at here.  @_@

hi

im a new x8 owner and im having problems with the battery usage.

i've set the optimiser to the best it can be and gave it a proper charge when i bought the phone, but it's still losing charge at an alarming rate!

I have one big issue. I can't asign a ringtone to each contact. I even watched the video, but in my phone I have no such options.

In manual is said:

to select a contact ringtone, scroll down, tap Add more > Ringtone, select a ringtone and tap Done

But the main problem is that, when I tap Add more, there is no such Ringtone. I even do not have Add more. There is only More. And then under that More there are Notes, Nickname, Website, Event.

Why so???

In Settings>About Phone what firmware version are you using?  Certainly on my X8 which is on 2.1 there is an option within More for Ringtone, its the last option on the list.
