XPERIA X8 Issues

Hello Everybody,

Is anyone experiencing some issues with the X8,

I have a few problems with the X8 which I list below.

1. Downloading MMS settings does not work.

2. Some operator messages cannot be replied to.

3. The Music player does not have Playlist!!! This is such a let down. I don't want to be scrolling all the time to play another song.

4. When the phone syncs with address book from Google it deleted the contacts!

5. In Call volume is low, and the slider displayed shows there is some more volume left but it wont move anymore.

6. Can the SW prevent crucial things from getting uninstalled. I mean there are some system apps that could be uninstalled thay may cause the phone to brick out.

7. No Alert Profile are available, either silent or audible. Nothing like discreet or extra loud.

8. The Keypad slows down so significantly when the message thread is a bit long. It gets annoying to type. Also Some words need to be unlearnt.

Am I missing something as to how the phone shold be configured or what?

Other than that, the phone is awesome, great value for money. Although I wouldn't mind paying for a much higher spec version in the same form factor. I love my X8 more than this X10 or X10miniPro.

Thanks!

The thing is the phone is loaded with features but the problems Sony forgot to put Basic features like in which huge disapointment's are :

1.There are no basic Camera settings even the zoom is not there.

2.The music player is just to play pause and stop option nothing more than that. Not even Equalizer.

But you can get good music players from Android Market.

hey guys... i really like the look and design of SE X8 but i 'm confused about whether to go for X8 or X10 Mini Pro / Mini. .. would be very glad if X8 owners can help me out .. Slightly_smiling_Face

i love the 3" screen of X8 and the white panel looks very cool. the Camera is a let down as far as i have heard with no Auto Focus & the lack of multitouch/ pinch to zoom feature on the browser ( its not available in X10 Mini Pro, X10 Mini or X10 as well ) { will SE release Multitouch update for X8 as promised to X10 users? just curious Slightly_smiling_Face }  is kinda getting me confused whether to go for X8 or not..

what i would like to know is :

1.  how is the music playback quality through earphones ( is it like Walkman phones if i get players like Winamp ) or is it dull ?

2.  how is the web browsing experience on X8 .. is it fast , OR is it SLOW and does the web browser crash while browsing  or is it like a smooth and fast ride when it comes to browsing internet on X8 ?

3.  how is the Touchscreen Sensitivity? ..& how smooth is messaging (SMS) ?

4.  how is the Battery Life  & Performance of X8 after Android 2.1 Update?

i've always used Sony Ericsson and since this is an official SE forum so i would like a honest opinion from X8 users ..pls advise which one should i go for X8 or X10 mini/ mini pro? Slightly_smiling_Face

It is interesting, why at a forum of support any support do not render? Or a forum have thrown, as well as software updating?
P.S. I am sorry for my bad English.

This is ridiculous. Android offers more than 50.000 aplications and you can only use 20 of then. i don't think anyone would have bought this phone if they new. and how are you going to uninstal them when 10 of them are skype, google voice, shazam and other that you use every day...and the other 10 are games that you propably don't want to loose the save...anyway this phone is awaist of time and money

Hey,

I, personally, think that you should go for the X10, as it now has multitouch, and basically better software and hardware than the others. Or go for an Xperia Play, Pro, Neo, or Arc. I'm really regretting getting my X8, whereas I could have gotten an HTC HD2, Aria, or similar. However, it's a decent phone.

1. The Music app is good, as SE is in tune with the latest tech for Walkman and such. The Camera is a little below par, but surprisingly good quality in the right brightness and areas.

2. The browser is WebKit, and pretty good, I have to say. Not as good as the iPhone, perhaps, but nonetheless, not bad. No Flash support, but there is pan and zoom, and you can view full web pages like Engadget, IGN, etc. Pretty fast at rendering pages, hasn't crashed on me yet.

3. The touchscreen is a little buggy, and not as responsive and smooth as we'd like, definitely not as good as the iPhone or HTC Desire. It's OK, nothing to really ogle over. As for SMS and messaging, it's a neat little app with bubble continuation. Easy to view the date of messages, and TimeScape is nice for viewing them. The Default Keyboard is not too great, but there are easy solutions, such as the HTC IME keyboard, or the Voice Search App with the Stock Android Keyboard.

4. the Battery Life is good, nothing to sneeze at. On a full charge, it lasts me all day, getting to about 60% by the time I go to sleep. However, I charge it in the mornings, unplug it at 1, and don't charge it at night. Even still, it only drains about 5-10% during the 9 hours I don't use it. As for the Performance after the update, sure, it's good. A couple new apps, some different settings and updated system integrations, but that's about it. The keyboard is still a little buggy, and the Album's not as good as I'd like, but it's on par for the price.

Again, I advise you to get the X10(Regular), or if not that, then the X8. If you got some money, go for the new ones (Arc, Pro, Play, Neo) or for an HTC phone. The first Xperia Android Models are not as good as anyone would like in terms of software and such, but it's an OK deal.
