XPERIA X8 Issues

Hello Everybody,

     Is anyone experiencing some issues with the X8,

I have a few problems with the X8 which I list below.

1. Downloading MMS settings does not work.

2. Some operator messages cannot be replied to.

3. The Music player does not have Playlist!!! This is such a let down. I don't want to be scrolling all the time to play another song.

4. When the phone syncs with address book from Google it deleted the contacts!

5. In Call volume is low, and the slider displayed shows there is some more volume left but it wont move anymore.

6. Can the SW prevent crucial things from getting uninstalled. I mean there are some system apps that could be uninstalled thay may cause the phone to brick out.

7. No Alert Profile are available, either silent or audible. Nothing like discreet or extra loud.

8. The Keypad slows down so significantly when the message thread is a bit long. It gets annoying to type. Also Some words need to be unlearnt.

Am I missing something as to how the phone shold be configured or what?

Other than that, the phone is awesome, great value for money. Although I wouldn't mind paying for a much higher spec version in the same form factor. I love my X8 more than this X10 or X10miniPro.

I have read recommendations that the wifi channel should be in the single digits 1-9 for the X8

But that doesn't help me in any way, I lose wifi connection all the time, while my brothers iphone 3G on the same wifi never dropped a single connection.

Somethings wrong with the X8's WiFi either in software or in hardware, lots of people have this problem.

hi will anyone plz tell me how to do proxy setting in xperia x8...i also want to upgrade android 1.6 to 2.1 bt connecting my phone to my laptop nd after starting the support zone for update it says updates are available connect ur pc to internet even when my pc is connected to internet... plz help m realy got irritated wid this phone... worse than my sony ericsson k750i phone...

I could upgrade to 2.1 successfully. I tried the steps.

1. connect internet to laptop
2. perform backup (can be found in Menu -> Backup and Restore in your phone) if you want to save contacts and messages (recommended but it did not work for me. I lost my contacts.)
   
3. power off the phone
4. connect usb to phone (do not plug usb to laptop yet)
   
5. while pressing the back key button plug the usb cable to laptop
6. phone will go into download mode and upgrade will start

1. hay every body i have  issue with my x8 since i update it to 2.1 the mobile downloading things and i dont know how to switch that off pleas help meeeeeeee  the mobile download 31 thing

Settings | Accounts and sync settings | uncheck background data and Auto-sync

thx man but the thing now is when i am open the market  i found 31 thing became in download progress and i cannot stop that and i have done that befor but nothnig happens thnak you  for ur help

i have found something

To view your downloaded files
1.From the Browser screen, press .
2.Tap More > Downloads.
To cancel an ongoing download
1.From the Browser screen, press .
2.Tap More > Downloads.
3.Mark the checkbox of the downloading file.
4.Tap Delete.

i stell have the same problem  heeeeeelllllpppppppp meeeeeeee guys the mobile dowanload 31 thing and i dont know how to stop thaaaaaaaat

Have you tried Applications>Manage Applications then press Menu button and select Filter>All, then find Market and clear data/clear cache/uninstall updates and see if this works.

I used my phone yesterday night. Today morning i found my phone displaying  THE APPLICATION HOMESCREEN HAS STOPPED UNEXPECTEDLY,PLEASE TRY AGAIN. and force to close.I tried out all means,but it is not working I am totally scared.I bought my new phone last week only.Please help me out.
