XPERIA X8 Issues

Hello Everybody,

     Is anyone experiencing some issues with the X8,

I have a few problems with the X8 which I list below.

1. Downloading MMS settings does not work.

2. Some operator messages cannot be replied to.

3. The Music player does not have Playlist!!! This is such a let down. I don't want to be scrolling all the time to play another song.

4. When the phone syncs with address book from Google it deleted the contacts!

5. In Call volume is low, and the slider displayed shows there is some more volume left but it wont move anymore.

6. Can the SW prevent crucial things from getting uninstalled. I mean there are some system apps that could be uninstalled thay may cause the phone to brick out.

7. No Alert Profile are available, either silent or audible. Nothing like discreet or extra loud.

8. The Keypad slows down so significantly when the message thread is a bit long. It gets annoying to type. Also Some words need to be unlearnt.

Am I missing something as to how the phone shold be configured or what?

Other than that, the phone is awesome, great value for money. Although I wouldn't mind paying for a much higher spec version in the same form factor. I love my X8 more than this X10 or X10miniPro.

Hi!! The Android 2.1 roll out was unexpected considering the antagonising delays with the X10 Rollout. But ... It was great. Most of the issues were solved... Good work. No More Black screens, the onscreen keyboard does not lag, the UI feels snappier. Bluetooth functions are added. The apps do not crash ... Great! and the bundled Bloatware can be uninstalled... which is unexpected.Regarding the caller showing as unknown... I checked with my carrier and it is their problem... Good Job. Thanks...

So u mean to say that its my phone problm that it shows incoming call as UNKNOWN...??

Check with your service provider if your caller id service is deactivated..so only it is comming unknown..

Since I have updated my X8 to A2.1 , I have not seen any problems with the device . This might be caused due to application that I had installed before update from google market, they probably are not so suitable with A1.6.

hai siapa pemilik2 Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 mungkin boleh tlg aku.
Aku guna line celcom. Aku ada masalah bila org send msg nama dia tak keluar dlm inbox tu.. tp no tu dah save dlm phone book. Dlm sms no tu keluar +6(no phone), sb ada +6 tu... phone ni anggap tu no lain. Tp bila org tu call.. ada plk nama dia keluar. Tau tak mcm mana nak setting?

Boleh kongsi sekali apa masalah phone ni yg korang hadapi?

so you recommend that i just wait for the update to be available for my phone? im experiencing the lag issues with the UI and the crashing of apps. really sucks, starting to regret a little bit buying this phone.  Can someone suggest what i do? bring the phone to the service center (which is another timezone away) or just wait for the android 2.1 eclair update? thanks in advance

by the sound of your previous posts you had more problems than i do at the moment. im experiencing the lag (which wasnt there when i first bought it) and the crashing of the apps. you recommend that i just wait for the android 2.1 eclair update? god this is frustrating to have a new phone (which i saved up for) with problems.. thanks in advance

I have updated to 2.1 but the problem is that the phone reboots when I try to turn off or connect to USB cable.

Please resolve this ASAP.

Also if possible add Equlizers to the music player in next update because even cheapest music phone on planet has equalizers.

u can try reinstalling 2.1 update again...i updated my x8 and it is just fine now...if u want equalizer...then download PowerAMP from anroid market...tats the best music player i have ever seen...the presets in the PowerAMP are too good...u can also use Mix Zing, or Meridian Media player..these are also wonderfull media players.. the default music player really sucks... x8 is performing really better after the update...but still some lag in the album...and it is really very slow when viewing pictures...

the keyboard stuttering problem while typing is solved now...
