Mine did exactly this as well. But I sort of fixed it with an app called 'ultra keyboard'. Still not perfect, but a million times better. The downside is that I think you have to pay for it.
Why on earth they build in such a glitch is anyone's guess. My old Nokia never had this problem.
I hadn't realised this before, but I *think* it's only in Chrome that the problem occurs (so I can just use the browser app instead). I only got the phone a week ago and I updated everything when I got it, so I should be up to date. I will investigate further when I get home from work.
I think you might be right. I found out yesterday that android is owned by Google, so it seems very strange that there should be such a basic issue.
Next thing to try and work out is the copy and paste function (if there is one).
indeed Android is by google, BUT Sony added their UIX, keyboard, apps, etc, so it's not quite just Android as google released it, otherwise it'll be like the awesome Nexus 4
I have the exact same problem and it is just in Chrome. It seems to ignore whatever your autocorrect settings are, too. The Google website in the stock browser doesn't allow the autocorrect to work at all and disables the ability to swipe, which is odd.
I'm also disappointed you can't disable new words from automatically being added to the My Words list. Every spelling mistake gets added to the list and I have to manually remove them. You could disable this feature in the old phones.
