Xperia SP switches off when charging

I've had my SP since November, and have noticed over the past week or so that it switches itself off when I charge it overnight.

This is a new problem and one that's particularly annoying because it means that my alarm won't go off.

Any ideas?

Try to boot the phone in safe mode and see if it still turns off:

Thanks. I've switched to 'Safe Mode' and will try charging it again when I get home.

I've installed the Safe Charge app and so far, so good.

You didnt say if the phone shut off at safe mode....
