Can Somebody expain how xperia s memory is partitioned.
I think 32 GB total
so
eMMC memory = 32 GB of which about 25.8 GB(/mnt/sdcard) is available for user.
The othe 6.4 odd GB is used for android system
with /system 1GB (on my custom ROM),
user apps (/data) 2GB
and cache (/cache) 246MB.
RAM memory = 1 GB

Solved! Go to Solution.
The rest of the space is allocated in system partitions which you can not see. Like kernel, boot loader etc.
And yes it's all in one chip.
Hopefully the white paper for Xperia S could help you.

Let me know if it's something that you don't understand, or are you wondering where the unavailable eMMC memory is allocated?
Thanks for that information, but, I was after the allocation of memory, and if the internal (upto 1.8GB in the white paper) and emmc memory is on the same chip ie as you said

I saw this teardown http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/04/30/xperia-s-disassembly-guide/
image 24near the bottom of the webpage the caption reads "Step 24: Here you can see the back of the Toshiba memory. The read and write speeds of this module are very fast."
Thanks again for your assistance
