xperia s home screen auto rotation does not work

i have just bought the xperia s so it is like 2 days old, and now for some reason the home screen auto rotation does not work. It works in browser and othere apps like movie, gallery and  contacts etc but not in home screen. any idears what it could be.

help would be greatly apreciated. I am running version 2.3.7 build is 6.0.A.3.75

it won't work, the only way it will work is if the Xperia S is connected to a TV/screen through HDMI or if it's connected to the charger.

Yes, I discovered that yesterday, while I was using my phone and it was charging.

Sometimes it's very useful to have notifications in full screen...

So there are no solutions to do that without the phone connected ?

Just tried with the charger plugged in and it works well with my phone.

By the way, I just realized that if you want notifications to be horizontal, you can just go read them in a menu or in an app that support screen rotation...

Screen rotation works with HDMI but not when i plug the charger in.

Works when it's connected to the computer... not tested with a normal charger though.

With mine it both works when connected to the computer and to the sector.
