See title. Considering that I've seen these support videos on Youtube, it is silly that they don't work in the support app. Should be a trivial thing for SE to fix.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I can confirm that all the issues which I reported in this thread have now been fixed!
What happens when you try to view them?
I tap the "Video tutorials" button. A "Loading videos" loading circle appears and then I get a pop-up message saying "Could not load content for this feeds category. Please try again later".
I am running the 4.0.2.A.0.58 software build (also had this problem with the original 4.0.1 that came with the phone) and have also chosen to update the support app when requested to newest version (If I go to settings->applications, it says that I have version 4.1.20 of the support app). Connected via wi-fi and internet connection works fine on phone.
Check if you have something called "uninstall updates" in the YouTube app. Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications > All > YouTube > Uninstall updates.
If so, try to run it and check if it makes any difference.
I removed all YouTube updates and it made no difference.
I just found out that our global YouTube account at www.youtube.com/sonyericsson has been suspended/terminated meaning all content uploaded to the channel is no longer accessible.
We are currently investigating why this has happened and trying to get the account re-activated as soon as possible. Until we've managed that these videos will not be available.
Not sure if this is the root of your problem (since you've had this problem for some time) but until this is solved there's no gain in troubleshooting any further.
Ah... The law of Murphy - the YouTube channel is alive and up and running again.
Are you still having this problem?
Try via both 3G and WiFi and let me know.
Yes, the problem is still present for me over WiFi. I can't test over 3g as don't have 3g network coverage in my current location, but when I have coverage I'll test it.
So the Xperia Pro demo videos do work for you? Other than for the user guide (which works fine), does the support app depend upon any files on the SD card? The reason I ask is because when I first got my phone I installed my own SD card and copied all the files from the bundled card to it. I then deleted some demo video files which did not seem to be used anywhere in the phone.
It should work via WiFi as well so that's probably not the issue (but please try via 3G if you can, no harm in doing so).
I will try to find some more info on this (and also try to get some time to check it out myself). I tried with an Xperia arc yesterday and that worked fine. I don't think this is related to any local files. It should be linked to YouTube videos I think.
You can find these videos on this page also.
