My Xperia Mini Pro had fallen many times from heights but never sustained any injury not even a scratch. But yesterday it well less than 15 cm and broke the screen. The screen parts came off at the bottom right. When I went to Sony Ericsson Service Center they asked me to replace the part containing the display (the part that flips up) for 9000 INR. I bought this phone on ebay for 13000 INR. The phone was east asian make. So they are saying I cannot get warranty. I want to know if it is possible to replace the screen. The phone is just 2 months old. How can I replace the screen. I believe only the digitizer is broken. The LCD seems intact. Touch function is working perfectly. I want the list of Service Centers in Kerala, India (preferably in Kollam, Trivandrum or Ernakulam) Please respond.

Hi dude
Sorry for such a late reply. I was quite busy and didnt come to the forum since many days.
Yes dude, I have got my phone repaired and it is as good as it was before. Do buy the complete assembly because it is not possible to just replace touchscreen since LCD and touch are badly glued and 99% chances are that LCD would break when you try to separate touch from it. So, go for this:
Any good mechanic would easily replace it but better find a mechanic who deals with ericsson phones for safety;)
Also, buy this case which I have bought now so that my touchscreen wont break again
here you go..

can you explain more about the warranty thing you explained..??
generally , physical damage is not covered,,,,
and i dont know anything about the lcd etc...
Thank You. I bought the phone from another country. They are saying SE do not provide international warranty.
The touch screen is working. So I want to know which part is broken and want to replace it.
oh okz...
just for your knowledge - even if you bought the same in india itself..they would have charged you the same
i know this sucks... full phone for 13000rs and one part for 9000...
indeed no one will be willing to do this... but SE has this strategy which sucks for indian users..
like i have been to service centre many times , i once encountered a same xperience..
one guy's sim tray broke , so he was unable to use any sim ( his phone was a cheap one , around 3000rs -4000) and the service centre guys told him replacing it will also cost the same as a new phone...
dont know why they do this... its not us or any other market where users easily replace there sets...
very disappointed in this..
well wait for any other user to reply you on this... i dont have this type of info..

Use the above teardown tutorial to do it. Actually it is easy if you are technical person. Just need to be careful with the flex cables as they might break if you use too much force
Between : I'm not a dude, I'm a girl (my name is veena)

even im also electronics engineer so i think i can fix it as soon as it arrives.
once again lots of thanks for u . one small query how is the screen working like after
the replacement
That is good to know
Well the screen works just as smooth as the original. No problems so far. It works great
And Good Luck repairing it yourself.
You need the star screw driver to unscrew. And you need to glue up the LCD + touch assembly when finished. (at the front)
Be extra careful with the sliding part, take your time don't rush.
I fixed it 45 minutes
If possible I will upload the video of fixing. (it is not complete though as I ran out of memory in my cam )
