When I contact sonys local service center because of some software problem they downgrade my phones os from ics(4.0.4) to android 2.3.4.But i dont want a gingerbread(2.3.4) anymore so can i upgrade it to android 4.0 through pcc?
And how can i check wether my boot loader is unlocked or not?
Solved! Go to Solution.
you should be able to update your phone with either PCC or SUS
have you ever unlocked the bootloader?
also run PCC or SUS if it says modified software, then it's unlocked, if you try to use Track ID and it doesn't work then it's unlocked

I advice you to stay in Gingerbread because ICS is not stable yet i knwo ICS has good themes and colours but its not stable be patient until its updated and you get to know it through this forum until that be with Gingerbread. its for your own good.
But iam using ubuntu 11.04 os.Is there is any pcc available for ubuntu?
Ics is more easy to use.Now I cant open settings from notification,I cant play or pause music from lockscreen,I cant clear individual notification and I cant even save web pages for offline reading....
I think once you tried ics you cant downgrade it.Because its so addictable.
your 100% correct am the same as it!! i downgraded upgraded many times guess how silly i am?? but when will the stable release come out is your phone xperia mini pro?
I never tried to unlock my bootloader before.Iam asking because i think downgrading from ics requires unlocked bootloader.
No am using mini(st15i) nd i think ics for mini is much better than pro.
I do not think so :-/.
Maybe try to use some friend's computer with Windows? Updating with Sony Update Service is a simple and fast process and you will retain full support for the phone. If you upgrade using other methods than SUS or PCC, you might lose warranty...
