If you get that error it's most likely a firewall or other security program on your computer that blocks the Internet communication for our programs. Check your firewall and other security programs settings and try again.

What if you try using Update Service instead?

Let me know if US fails in the same way.

Whilst using the Sony PC Companion, following is the error message

Installation Error

Unable to install or start phone software update components

Tried using the Update service, its start with initialising the Synchronising and the fails with an Unexpectional error and exits.

do let me know, if you require more details

Thanks a Ton, Johan. It worked.

Could you please confirm why does the handset gets HOT whilst playing games / using the Camera over long periods. Handset is Normal whilst using other functions.

Is everything right with the Handset????.

but it gets quite HOT, unbearable heat even to hold the phone, especially whilst playing games like Angry Birds & whilst holding the Cam to shoot.

Is it a genuine problem in Sony Phones or in others too?????.

Hey there, its adviced to again repair your phone and see how it goes

________________________________________________________________

Backup everything as it will erase all data on phone (sms, contacts, apps)

PCC (PC COMPANION) – Repair your software with this .First do the setup without connecting your mobile to pc.(only connect when you are asked to).

Do it as follow >> PCC > SUPPORT ZONE> SOFTWARE UPDATE> REPAIR SOFTWARE (written with blue)

it was the same problem (whilst using 2.3.4) prior to upgrading to Android 4.0. Its only happening whilst using media (games & camera) otherweise the Handset is perfectly fine.

Will repairing the Phone using the PCC help????

Yes, it has been observed for quite a number of people that reinstalling second time resulted in clear installation, the first install in few cases was somewhat improper but the second did the job, a must go for you , after reinstallling everything should be fine,

Phone heats up during calls, play, videos, etc and its totally normal but make sure the heat is bearable,

Go for a software repair, it may improve your experience Slightly_smiling_Face
