The following video states that " Any device with Qualcomm's Snapdragon S2, S3 or S4 processor is capable of accessing both satellite networks." (GPS and GLONASS) and 2012 Sony smartphones including the Xperia S supports it. But xperia arc has Qualcomm" S2" Snapdragon processor, So is Xperia arc S a GLONASS capable device?

Thanks! Can you suggest me any apps that use GPS only for location tracking? Google navigation requires me to have working data connection, while Google maps can't track my location by GPS alone .
i don't think..any thing works without data...but i can suggest you one thing..
try this following..
tun on mobile data>go to google map>press the menu button>setting>labs>select the PRE-CACHE map
now go to map..then tap and hold you'll get a pop up select that and tap PRE-CACHE map...it will be stored in the map so when ever you won't have a data connection you can use that...and can use that map for GPS acess too...
