Why is my Xperia SP so slow?

Hi.

Bought a brand new pay-as-you-go Xperia SP on EE. But a few days ago had an Alcatel One Touch Idol S with specs lower than the SP.

But i noticed that the Idol S is relatively faster than the Xperia SP in terms of initial startup, downloading/installing apps, opening/closing and flicking thru homescreens.

I wonder why is that?

Any advice please?

Well, i don't have  task killer or any free RAM apps. (Maybe you can recommend something for me) I don't even know if they do help actually. But i always made sure there are no apps running at the background. Does that help?

Yes,try to force close apps you do not use. Also, disable phone functions like wifi, bluetooth, data when not using them.Do not use taskkillers or free ram apps.Tap the home button longer, you can remove recent apps from a kind of task manager.Restart the phone regularly,it is essential for Android. For any other things, you can search this forum or ask us.

I always make sure that Bluetooth/GPS/NFC/Etc. are turned off of course. I know about that long time ago. I turn the brightness down as well. The multitasking bar on the home buttons i make sure i close those apps.

Anything else i might have missed?

For now, nothing else.Make sure to charge your phone until you get the full charged in phone status. If you have any other issues, you know where to come.

Is it safe to charge even if it's not full 0%? Or leave it charging for 8 hours overnight if it's near 0%?

Charge it when the battery is between 0-10%,I do not advice people to fully discharge the phone. But you may look for other helpful tips on the internet.
