What is Stable Updating Procedure??

Hi guys..!! I hav ICS available for my mobile.. I wanna know what is the stable updating procedure for updating to ICS.. And is it better to update via SUS or PC Companian?? Please help me in updating my mobile.. I want a stable update.. Kindly help..

1- back up all ur data

2- do a factory reset + erase everything

Thanks for making such detailed DIY post on updating ICS with SUS. But could you please technically explain why updating with PCC is less stable compared to SUS. Though I haven't got update in XU yet but while I was updating ICS on my previous Xperia Live with Walkman I saw some videos and how-tos to update ICS both with PCC and SUS. I personally found updating via PCC more easy. Please give me some reasons to change my decision. Thanks.

I think its more stable as its sole work is to update while pcc has lot of other features so they interfere and it requires many drivers while sus does not need many drivers

SUS is a standalone updating program. It performs no other task. Thus the operation of SUS is much smoother and faster unlike PCC, which can perform many funstions.
