voice actions - retry

When I use the voice actions to type, search, google now etc I don't get given anytime to speak before I get "Didn't catch that. Try speaking again"

Tried everything including a full reset but I'm still getting the problem, any ideas?

Getting the same issue starting the same time as you on my Xperia Z. Very annoying.

I've been experimenting with the issue today and have discovered that it is the latest update for Google 'Voice Search' but only when used via the 'Google Now' screen. Once I try to use the voice actions at the 'Now' screen it stops voice recognition working in any other app on the phone. Swiping away 'Google Now' on the running apps screen clears the problem. To get around the issue I have added the 'Voice Search' app to my homescreen, this actually saves me an additional click and still accepts the latest voice actions for example reminders.

I have reported the problem to Google 🙂
