if you connect them to a wall charger that's the only way it will work, if you connect it to a PC then

settings > xperia > connectivity > msc mode and uncheck auto connect on MSC mode

As nolramlb stated the phone will charge, if needed, whenever the USB is connected to a charger or computer. It will charge from the computer whether the "auto connect" box is checked or not.

I think he is asking for the phone only to charge and not to mount the internal storage nor the SD card to the computer

unchecking auto connect does not solve my problem, I can still access Internal storage through my windows explorer browser, any other thoughts?

Edit: your answer should be the way to go, so I still believe its the correct answer. Could it be a special case I have ?

You are correct.

The internal storage (locked in the MTP mode) will always connect, though.

Here's the full story,

I got mugged last thursday and lost my 2 months old xperia sola, so I got me a new one, and Im trying to take all the precautions cause its likely to happen again (yup ... I live in such a city 😞 ).

so I have my handphone secured with some apps that would detect the next unauthorised SIM card and send me the number. The only way to bypass it (I hope!) is to connect the handphone through a USB debugger and wipe it out.

So, I guess its clear now, I'd like to have my USB port respond only to charging. Any extra kind of functionality has to go through handphone authentication (password to unlock first screen).

Is there a solid way to do that ?
