Updating to .184 on custom kernel/fw

I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this if i need to update to the .184 firmware with a custom kernel and firmware already running or do i need to flash the stock kernel first. PCC shows update available which is a bit weird since in past experiences the phone is usually unrecognized if the kernel has changed...

First flash any stock rom

also since your bootloader is unlocked, you will have to relock it before you could use SUS and PC Companion
