transfering files larger than 2Mb fails

I've had this problem with my Xperia ray for at least a couple of months now.

Never used to be a problem. Take videos and transfer them with usb to the computer.

Now I have to remove the sd card and put it in a reader to transfer files larger than 2 or 3 Mb.

The exact size is consistent.

I even replaced the sd card with a larger one (16Gb) but the problem persists.

Suggestions?

On a different note - I had to login to this forum with a Facebook account (I detest facebook).

Because the login into talk.sonymobile with Google+ just does not work for me. (Just about pulled my hair out!)

Has anyone else successfully logged into this forum using their Google+ account?

It appears the usb ports on the back of that computer are wore out. Used the one on front of machine (which has had little use) and it worked fine. Not the phone or Android's problem.
