Okay, I'm trying for some time now to root my phone. First time I did it did not work at all, but something changed on my phone, the PC does not recognize it anymore, I mean, if I plug it in, it says "ST27i device connected" but when I try to update to the new firmware 6.2.A.1.100 that I have to follow some steps (unplug USB from PC -> charge the phone battery to 50% -> turn off phone and wait 5s -> hold volume down and power key while plugging the usb cable) at that point (bold text) the phone is not recognized by the PC and therefore does not update. I'm still running wih 6.1.1.B.1.10...
Can anyone help me?
Thank's a lot.
Solved! Go to Solution.
First of all try again and press and hold the volume down button up to two minutes before releasing it if PC Companion doesn't take you to the next step right away.
Also try to connect the phone to other USB ports on your PC. Also try to uninstall PC Companion and try again.
If the problem persists you can try to update your phone with Update Service instead:
