SOLVED
Just got myself a xperia t and the only way i am able to get ringtones/notification tones is via zedge from play store, i have loads of mp3's on my sd but dont seem to be able to set them from that as ring tones etc what am i doing wrong?? how do i get it to do it??

For contact ringtone.
Contact >> Edit >> Ringtone >> Sound Picker (Just Once) >> Octave (top right)
or for all messages
Messages >> Menu 3 dots >> Settings >> Notification Tone >> Sound Picker (Just Once) >> Octave (top right)
If not there, you may have selected Media Storage and *Always* in the past, then you need to do this first.
Settings >> Apps >> Menu 3 dots >> Reset App Preferences
Then go back and try again.
