Normally when I plug in my Ray while it's off, the "sony" screen comes up for a few seconds, then the screen shows the charging icon and the LED turns yellow. Instead, the Sony screen comes up, then the phone restarts, Sony comes up again, rinse lather and repeat forever. The phone still charges just fine when it's turned on. Anyone else had this problem?
I have tried removing/reinserting the battery, as well as charging the phone with different cables/ports/outlets. I upgraded to ICS a few days ago. I think that it was charging properly for a couple of days after I upgraded, but I'm not 100% sure.
So at this point my next step is to do a Repair with PC Companion. Then, if all else fails, take the phone to my carrier for repair. Is there anything I can try before this? Thanks.

I did a nandroid restore followed by a Repair with PCC and the problem went away, thanks.
Titanium Backup made this process rather painless.
I'm glad it's working now
for future reference
Xperia Ray ST18i/a 2.3.4 update 4.0.2.A.0.62

or
4.0.3
By the way, in case anyone was wondering, my particular version of CWM (installed through SE Extreme Tweak Installer) was the problem. Hopefully someone can come up with another way of getting CWM on Rays with locked bootloaders.
I am facing the same problem.joeTaco..Did you reset ur android to manufacture settings?? is dat wat u call android restore?
Nd how did u repair using PCC?? i don find an option to repair in PC Companion..
Please help as i m new to android..
Thanks..:)
To do a repair in PCC, click on Support Zone, then Update Phone, then you will see a text link to repair. It's a bit hidden.
Don't worry about a "nandroid restore" - if you don't know what it is, you probably can't do it anyway. ie. you need to have ClockworkMod installed to do it.
thanks for that..i resolved that issue using pcc repair..:)
