I will be downgrading AGAIN to GB .62 version.
I would like to know if it is possible to do a software repair on GB without letting the softwares upgrade my phone to ICS?
Thanks.

Hi, it is not possible, once you plug phone to PC Companion or Update Service for software repair, it will update phone to latest Android version.
I believe your local Service Centre can do that for you, check with them.
i can do it myself. It's just that Sony's SEUS recommends doing software repairs in regular basis as it brings the phone's software into a tip-top condition.
Now, I wanted to stay in GB for good or at least Sony has released a real stable ICS. Even Sony is recommending that we stay in GB because it is stable. I'd like to take Sony's advise and stick with GB.
But since there is no facility to make the upgrade optional, I can't help but think that Sony is not really serious at all about it's Android development. I mean why does Sony recommends staying in GB and then contradict their words by NOT allowing us to stay in GB.
Sad.
I guess it is just options given to users ....
Some options huh? Option not to upgrade to ICS but no option to stay in GB.
Hey, ICS is not available on OTA update right? What do I get if I downgrade to GB .42 then do an OTA update, would I get a GB .62?
There is no official method to downgrade to .42. Why would you want to flash to .42, then updated to .62? You could just flash it to .62. Just be aware of the warranty .... Anyway, to answer your question, phone will be updated to latest Android version.
Because I want to root .42 then when you do an OTA update to .62, the phone stays rooted.
With the phone in .62, the only way to root is to unlock the bootloader which I do not want to do because I am not sure what will I loose or what will I gain.
