Question about auto adjustment screen

Which setting should I use for my screen. Automatic adjustment or should I set it my self? (i.e. 40%) Which one saves the battery the most.

When I switch to auto adjustment, nothing seems to happen for example when I am outside I don't see anything anymore and have to adjust it manually. So what does this feature really do?

It has a minor bug, sometimes it works ok.

You're better off doing as you said, manually set it to 30-40% and use the backlight on/off when you need it outside.

This will save your battery life a lot.

Miffy is correct, auto brightness will use more battery monitoring and adjusting this. If battery is your main concern then a manual setting would be best.
