problem with camera

A purple dot is permanently on my screen when using my normal camera and it appears on the photos after they are taken,

Turned phone on and off multiple times can't think what else to do

which version of software are you running?
the new update .184 fixes that problem

I have no idea to be honest not good with that kind of stuff how can I find out/ update it?

go to settings > about phone > build number
that is your curent version of software
the newest available software is 6.0.B.3.184
you can check if it is available for your phone through PC companion, just connect your phone to your pc and check for update in the pc companion
you can also check on the phone in settings > about phone > software update

if the update is available for you, you can update through pc companion > just follow the instructions in the program... you won't lose any data but it is recommended to do the backup just in case...
