Possible to switch off just the 2G/3G connection?

I mainly use my phone for emergencies but use the WiFi quite a lot.

I noticed that once I put a SIM in the battery use started to drop at a rate of about 10% for 4 hours in standby. If I put it into Plane mode then it loses hardly any battery in standby.

I'd like it to only use WiFi and be able to just check the mobile carrier occasionaly is this possible?

Just use the Stamina mode in power management. After that also go to more below the data usage and selet mobile networks, then select GSM only rather than LTE...

Do not use plane mode. Also to see your carrier in Stamina mode swipe down the notification panel

Yes,as the user above stated,you can use only 2G,it drains less battery than others.You may go for airplane mode also.

No need of doing all this. Just uncheck /OFF mobile data using the widgets or from the top curtain.
