phone now locked on return from repair

I'd bought my xperia arc 2nd hand unlocked but after an update it had to be sent in for repair under warrenty but on return the phone is now blocked to it's orginal carrier network3 , does anyone know the sim unlock code or could i get this from network3 ?

Any help would be gratefully received

Well if the phone had been unlocked by code, this would have been permanent and resetting/updating it would not have had any effect. I understand that you're in a difficult position, but Sony is not responsible for this.

I can only suggest that you use Wotanserver to re-unlock your phone and also reflash it with a different software version, if you want:

Yes, the easiest way is to get the unlock code from network 3--it seems that the phone was previously unlocked by patch and not code, and this patch was deleted by the update process.

Thank you for the reply .

I've tried ringing 3 but you have to enter a '3' mobile number to talk to someone & obviously i havent got one so will have to go to a highstreet shop ..

Yes i've tried that but you have to still enter a '3' mobile number before before you can get through to a person ..

Did you try using the 0800 number at the top of the page using a landline?

.. 3's customer servicies rep said she cant do anything ,  i have to speak to sony but ive already spoken to them this morning who said that they cant do anything as that's what would happen after the repair , i never realised it would be stuck to 3 ..

or the rep said she needs to talk to the previous owner who i've tried to message via ebay ( where i bought the phone) but he's no answering ...

    Brilliant !  oh well

... If the phone was unlocked before it was sent away shouldnt it of been unlocked when

returned by sony ?

It's cost money for the phone to be unlocked and now more money has to be spent again to get it to how it was before so shouldnt sony give me the sim unlock code ?

I rang sony earlier this morning who's reply was

" well that's what happens when the phone is reset, we advised to back up all data and having the phone return to it's factory settings was to be expected"

Do i have a case of do you think sony's correct ?
