Hi,
For some reason over the last few nights Mediasever has used at least use at least 25-30% of the battery, I started using the phone (calls and email services) quite heavily during the day and find I need to recharge twice a day, usually early evening so when I go to bed it only needs about a one hour charge to be fully charged. After which I leave it disconnected whilst asleep but after 6-7 hours when get up I find battery down to around 50% and mediasever being a big culprit, and on opening it up in battery use it only say in the region of 50-70 minutes cpu use.
So what is this mediasever, how do I restrict it, I've not added any new apps, it does not appear in running services.
Thanks for any assistance/advice you can give

nolramib,
Thanks for that link within that post was another link and according that one the source of the problem is a corrupt photo, video or music file. The solution is to move all the media files over to your pc and if you need them on ypur phone then move them back in small numbers and check that mediasever does not go crazy, if it does you isolate that corrupt file.
So as I recently took pictures and videos I'll move them first, I'm hoping that it's one of my recent photos or videos is the culprit
Thanks
Ken
please update if this solved your problem
Actually I'm devastated just look in the folders internal and external and ALL my photos and videos are gone. Luckily I've got them in a back up except for the last lot, but this has floored me.
what do you mean they are gone? did you accidently delete something?
if you can , you can perform a factory data reset.

I've not deleted them, I've them upto the last lot copied into a folder on my pc. What mean is that I've looked into DCIM, 100andro, photo, movie, image and camera folders internal and external sd storage and there all empty, I've use search function of windows explorer for jpg and files starting DSC as is what the picture files are named.
I can only assume that as mediasever could open it deleted and all my files were some how corrupt.
I'm not going to use this phone as a camera again
I'll do a factory reset but I don't see how it can recovery the files
sorry to hear that. no, its not to recover the files, its to repair the software.
As I I'm devastated, as I say I'll not use the camera again, two month old tempted to put on ebay and get rid.
