How to view sola as external hard drive while connecting to computer

When i connect sola to computer it is getting recognized as portable device but i wanted to view as external hard drive. Since i lost few(very important) files accidentally when tried to recover, i couldnt do it because of this problem. Can anybody pls help.

Have you installed Sony Mobile Companion? If you have, it should've commenced auto start once you connect your Sola to computer.

Thanks for your reply Marcel Glen.

Yes I have installed Mobile Companion and I could see auto start pop up. But still "Xperia Sola" is listed under portable devices. Forget to mention its also listed under "Removable Storage Device(K)" but the size is 0. I am not able to view internal storage contents via K:/ drive.

Note: I could browse contents via "Xperia Sola" listed under "Portable devices" but the recovery software i use recommends devices to be viewed as External hard drive. Its not able to recognize portable devices.

Or can you suggest any other ways to recover deleted files from internal storage?

On your phone, do you see "Connect your phone" notification?

Tap on that and select connect SD card...

You should be able to see your SD card content in the Removable Disk on your PC...

Goto Settings>Connectivity>Select Option as MSC,

try connecting ur phone,
