How to Upgrade to ICS.?

Hi all,

I need to upgrade my Xperia Mini to android ICS. When I connect my xperia mini with my PC companion, it is asking for the upgrade. But my question is whether my contacts and apps'll be lost after that upgrade.?

If it is then how can i back up the contacts, sms, apps and everything. I am new to android family. So please help me.

And also can i upgrade vis PC companion. Is it safe or is there anyother way to upgrade.?

I suggest that you use PC Companion to update your phone. The update is not supposed to erase any personal data but it's always recommended to backup up data. I suggest that you sync all your contacts and backup the rest using any backup application from Google play store.
