How do i turn off background google services in xperia pro?

Despite killing the background google services like gmail, gtalk and other services like facebook, i see that they keep springing back up again.

Its doing a lot of data transfer over the wire(GPRS) and will kill me with the data usage bill that i will get.

You can switch off your data entirely via Settings>Wireless & networks>Mobile Networks and untick Data enabled.

You can also put a widget/switch on your home screens by long pressing in a blank area, selecting widgets and then Data Traffic.

Other than that you can go in to the individual items and turn off syncing. For all google accounts/apps go into Menu>Settings>Accounts & Sync and make sure auto sync is turned off, then you can go in to each app and tap to sync when you want to, for example when you are on wifi.
