Game Buttons Lagging

Game Buttons Lagging

Hey there! I have a very strange problem with my Xperia Play. Whenever I play a game on it, be it a PS1 game, an Xperia Play-optimised one or an emulator, the input from the game buttons lags by a second or two - very off-putting indeed! But what's strange is that it isn't a problem if I use the buttons to navigate menus. I sent a message to Sony Ericsson's support about this, and they recommended updating the firmware, which didn't fix the problem unfortunately. I should mention that my device is completely stock, I haven't installed any custom firmware or application managers or anything. Does anyone have any ideas, please? It would be really appreciated, because I really want to use my Xperia Play properly... ^w^

Edit: And I guess I should also mention that I got the phone from O2.

That's rather strange. I suggest that you try to run a software repair on the phone using PC Companion.

And if the problem still remains you should get it examined at a repair center. For more info about repair centers contact your local support team.

Hey there! Thanks for the response! I installed the PC Companion and updated the firmware but that didn't fix the problem unfortunately. And this is probably a really stupid question, but... please could you tell me how to do a software repair with the program? I've looked all around it but I can't see the option... sorry.

In PCC go to Support Zone > Software Update > Repair phone. Do this while phone is not connected via USB.

Thank you very much for the help! It seems to have fixed the problem somewhat. Although PS1 games like Crash Bandicoot still have laggy controls (and I know it's not the game's fault, I compared it with the same game on the PSP), I found that others like Bruce Lee and Sonic CD are now fine! I guess if the games that still lag irritate me too much then I will get the phone examined at a repair centre.

Thanks again! :3
