Contact Groups

Hi Guys,

Just a quick question, i bought my girlfriend an Xperia Ray for Christmas and so far we've been very pleased with the little guy, however, i have a slight problem...

For her work she needs to send out sms messages to her collegues regularly and it would make her life easier if she could group these contacts as opposed to selecting them all individually. The problem is i am unable to find any way of creating or selecting groups in the phonebook of the phone. I am able to create the groups in her Gmail account and sync with the phone but am still unable to find the groups anywhere. On my Galaxy s2 there is a 'Groups' tab next to the 'Favourites' which allows me to do this, but the feature seems to be missing from the Xperia. Any help would be much appreciated!

ANd yes , you will not be needing these applications for the upcoming ice cream sandwhich android version for your phone Winking_Face

this update will be launched in march \ april

so ray will have pre installed group contact feature..

Thanks Slimshaddy, it's curious that Sony would omit such an important feature but at least there is a way around it via 3rd party apps until ICS goes live. To the App Store...!

well the whole point of being an android phone is customisation Winking_Face

like she wants to use group contacts for official purposes , but i dont use it Slightly_smiling_Face

i mean if it would have been installed in all phones , it would have taken some amount of space Winking_Face

i know its important for most of the users , but for some users like me , no use..

so i'm saying there are various types of users who wants to use various types of features..like you - group contacts

some want audio recording ( also misssing in phone ) some wants other features..

adding all those features will require more space , RAM etc etc.. so it will not be efficient so thats why 3rd party applications..

the user who wants a particular feature , head to the market and download the most appropriate app Winking_Face

i hope you understood..
