cant get contacts in to my hotmail on the phone e-mail app

I cant send a "new e-mail" from my phone (Arc) without knowing the e-mail address of the recipient in my head or have it written somewhere where i can see it. I can only reply to e-mails sent to me. The only contacts that come up when I use "+add" button is the 2 that I use with my Skype account. Ive tried following the instructions given on the the web site and in the user manual. No luck. Ive written to SE support and was given instructions (slightly complicated and misleading) no luck. I e-mailed them again and they said it couldnt be done!! So they were either b.s.ing me the first time or the second time.

Hi, just access your app drawer, look for that particular app, longpress and place it to the 'missing icon' location.

I don't have any solution for you, but I have a workaround (hopefully it will work) ....

I think it is possible by doing the 'copy and paste' method. Try copying the email address from a source (by longpress, then select copy), then paste it to the 'To' field (by longpress, then paste). I believe that should work.

ok, tried that but no luck. The only source of e-mail contacts is in my phone contacts. When I long press i dont get the "copy" option- just :- Add to Favorites, Join Contact, Edit Contact and Delete Contact. ?

I guess you have to try another source .... possibly creating those email addresses in somewhere that works, which is 'copy and paste' (to be your source).

This is my first forum Ive used ever! is it normal that your replies come to me via my live Hotmail as an e-mail? The reply only goes on to bottom of the discussion after Ive read it on my e-mail and then refreshed the page by clicking on the "your stuff" button on top. Is that normal? Sorry for the newbie questions.

I'm just chipping in with a thought.... I had a problem with what I thought was my bluetooth not working but discovered quite by accident that it was because I had installed skype and everytime I tried to dial I got a message saying use as default and then options for contacts or skype.  Because the phone was in its case I didn't see this when driving so blamed bluetooth.

So where does this leave you, well just wondering if it is only showing you two skype contacts if you inadvertantly selected use as default Skype at some point.  So I am wondering if it is worth deleting skype for the time being and seeing if once that has gone the phone finds your email addresses.

Anyway, worth a try if you are at a bit of a loss on why on earth this is happening.
