Cant attend calls ...Hangs when trying to attend calls..FIX????

Cant attend calls after picking my phone from my jeans pocket..It hangs a lot everytime...

Everytime need to press the power button / lock key.. mute the audio in order attend the call..

This problem existed in ginger bread as well as ICS,,pls suggest me how to fix this????

Have you installed any screen protecter or are you using any mobile case ?

The reason i am asking because they may interfere with proximity sensor and could case such annoyance

If not any the dial *#*#7378423#*#* in dialer > service tests > proximity sensor> it must be off

Touch the proximity sensor it must now show as on... do it several times and report the results here

yes i have installed screen protector and a teflon case..but those things never block the proximity sensor...and also i dailed the code which you gave.. it showed me proximity sensor on.. when i placed my hand over the sensor it made a sound and indicated off...tested for few times and it was working perfect..

The only problem is when i take the phone from my pocket i can't attend or end a call... it's stuck can't swipe both ways...

wait a minute , means your proximity sensor was already showing on ??

Here comes the problem.....i think

it must show off and upon touching must show on....

test it again, remove your mobile's cover

Sorry what i meant was .. the proximity switch was OFF but when i placed my hand over it ...It indicated ON...Sorry for the confusion...

The most important thing after ICS update what i did was..I repaired my  phone through the latest pc companion software ..since i had issues with the ics...So the repair option was also done jst a few weeks before...Eventhough the software repair did not find me the solution for my frequent hanging during calls..Thankyou very much for reading my message with patience..and thanks a lot for your feedback.. it means a lot to me..thankyou..:smileyhappy:

Means you need to visit service center because most likely your proximity sensor is faulty
