After recently upgrading my arc hardware via PC Companion, my generic apk app installer no longer works. Removing it from the SD card, also from my PC then redownloading and trying again also doesn't work.
Why is this, has sony written something in there to block this kind of utility and is there a way around this?

Ok, basically it is an app that was available for free download. You store the file on the SD card, when you plug your phone into the pc, open the SD card from the PC Companion, open the app and a little green window appears on the PC screen. Get hold of the generic andriod app, and drag it into the green screen. It will automatically install to your phone.
With the basic Xperia Arc hardware - it worked perfectly, now it won't work at all.
Was more or less wondering how I can install freeware apps to my phone from my PC now that this won't work
you don't need that, look for a File Manager (Astro or OI File Manager)
