Hi recently I got my Arc S and I set up the data, but I'm only getting Edge services. My LT18a model band suppose to be compatable with AT&T 3G data. Is there any special way for me to set up to avoid getting Edge? I'm in the city so I shouldn't be getting edge.
Solved! Go to Solution.
E = 2G
3G = 3G
H = faux 4G or 3.5G
so as long as you get H your connection it's faster than 3G
go to
settings -> sony ericsson -> Internet settings
and just to be sure
also try this
settings -> wireless & networks -> mobile networks -> access point names -> MENU -> add New

MENU -> Save
I tried both suggestion and it still show E icon above..strange.
I know some users have locks on their SIM card so when they try to save the APN well it does't save it.
once you've entered the APN manually, turn off your phone, turn it back on and go to
settings -> wireless & networks -> mobile networks -> access point names
Is the APN still there?
After reboot, APN is still there.
go to
settings -> wirless & networks -> mobile networks -> make sure "data enabled" it's selected
That is also enabled. Network Mode is set to GSM only. Data roaming is OFF.
change it to wcdma preferred/GSM
No changes at all...I contacted AT&T support to get their APN info, same as you suggested above.
