Any chance for native Smart Dial?

As it stands in the topic - is it possible that Xperia arc S will get native Smart Dial in an software update? I`d rather avoid 3rd party dialler apps.

Don't know if this can or will be supported. Currently it's not (as I'm sure you already know) so it's either 3rd party apps or no smart dialing at all for the time being.

That's a pity, I will stick with other manufacturers for now than. Still I am very impressed with your updates and developers policy so I hope my next phone will be SE.

here are other methods

on the homescreen -> press MENU -> add -> shortcut -> contact -> select the contact

or

homescreen -> long press on an empty space -> shortcut -> contact -> select the contact

Use exDialer from the Market. The best T9 dialer IMHO.
