When I have Spotify playing on the phone and connected to the headset and it stops at times that i have to press play again on the Spotify app on phone. I don't have this problem with any other apps, I'm not losing connections, and it doesn't happen with any other headphones. I also have the latest software version installed.
All of what you said point out that it's related to Spotify really, which means that you need to check the settings on the app before you proceed.
Or, you can also test the app on another device, whether it's another PC or a phone.
