Yesterday I bought the M2 and inserted the SIM card like the manual said. The Phone didn't recognized the phone, so i wanted to get my SIM out, but when i pressed on the SIM it didn't "bump out" so i had to use a tweezer to get my SIM back. When i inserted it in my old phone it wasn't recognized either.
I was wondering if the Phone doesn't have the "bump out" feature, or if the phone has a production fault?
I ordered a new SIM, it will be mailed by end of the week, but should i try the new SIM again or should i return the phone due to its possible SIM-destruction feature?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
The Xperia M2 do actually have the "bump out" feature. If you press it inwards, it should pop out a bit so you can remove it easily. Are you sure that you inserted the SIM-card the right way?
But if your old phone did not recognize the SIM-card, I would suggest that you try another SIM-card to see if it works or wait for the new SIM-card.

Yes, i inserted it correctly. So it must be a production failure. I will try to find someone with an old SIM and try it again. Otherwise i will return it. I'm not willing to destroy another SIM, since i will have to wait until next week to get another SIM and have to be another week without a working phone.
Can someone maybe post a pic of the inside of the SIM slot in high res.? Maybe i could see if something in the slot is damaged.

I just ordered a new and free sim online, lol. lets see when it will arrive. eventually i will use it - but i don't think so.
Sorry, don't know how to merge posts here..
I just want to say that i returned the phone and upgraded to the z1 compact. The guy at the store said that it is probably a production failure, but i will never know for sure.
Thanks for the quick answers anyway. Maybe we hear us again in the Z1 compact forum
