Problem with GPS

Hi

I have problem with using of GPS. When I am using my endomondo it fixed the location, but after few minutes it just loses the gps signal on the open road under clear sky and looks like it remains in search mode. It never fix position again. I need to manualy disable GPS. And after enabling it will fixed within few seconds. Unfortunatelly this problem occurs randomly and always I have to do this GPS disable/enable procedure. And this is really annoying.

Similar behaviour happen with other software like Sygic navi or GPS test

Is there any help? New firmware? Anything?

I am using Xperiam M Dual

model c2005

android 4.2.2

kernel 3.4.0

build number 15.2.A.1.12 (latest in our country)

Gps on my phone has stopped working.
When i open maps it states "searching for gps location" but nothing happens.
I think this problem has occured after latest software update android 4.3.... 15.4.A.0.23
because i have used gps previously and it was working absolutely fine

Anybody found a better solution? GPS status in the background does not work for my XPERIA M single, and enabling A-GPS is somewhat suspicious. Why should GPS use additional infos if it looses the satellites? Poor SONY if they can't fix it - my old Defy worked without any problem.

Mschmidt2466, after update, which release already in India, East Europe, gps from first look working good, will be see in futuree, others days and ect I'm not tested new firmware yet, but later i will check But now working much better then was My place finding very fast Thanks to Sony

This sounds like good news, but remember it's not just an issue of finding the GPS lock but also of maintaining the GPS lock when you're travelling.

Antonyt56, i know, i didn't checked everything now, what i checked i wrote here: about moving to sd,download themes... and gps too... But i think if Sony fixed with finding my place, they fixed and maintaining But need check if for know that real

Some edit: When i turn on Stamina mode, gps again freeze and didn't find my place, but when i turn off Stamina mode, gps fast found here i am... Looks like can be some problem with Stamina (i had some with Facebook, when i turn on Stamina mode, and add Facebook in list of working apps at this time, message i didn't got still, just after i turn on phone from sleep mode  then i founding messages... i though this problem just is with Facebook, but looks like can be with Stamina mode) Still something wrong with gps, worked worked and after some retsrat of phone freezing again, it's beter then was, coz sometime working, but still with bugs... Oh, Sony, Sony... still need better fix Gosh... somehow get back to previouse and not finding where i am I can't believe how Sony programming, but problem still is

Guys, I had same problems with permanent signal lost until off/on GPS and low sensitivity of receiver.

Recorded tracks was just terrible.

Finally now it fixed. Root needed.

I detected one thing, when gps stopping... after Google Maps update... when i restarted phone factory settings, i turn on gps on Google Maps (i didn't nothing else, all others settings i leave alone) and worked fast and perfect gps, found my place without any problem (that's i though that Sony fixed problem), but after update Google Maps app, gps stopped working again and that's not once time, that's was and with older Xperia M firmware (i mean ...23 version of Jelly Bean 4.3) So guys, looks like we must warning Google about this bugs too... By the way before Facebook updated app, was problem with notifications too in it... i think many apps are not supported with Jelly Bean 4.3 yet So maybe Sony and fixed gps problem, but... Google not :)?

Hello,

I am yet to check as my phone is with the Service center geeks. I assume they updated to Kitkat.

They are doing something to my phone and are unable to find a solution. It's been just 2 weeks 🙂

I'll update you once I get any update on my phone.
