Don't have sound when talking on phone

When I call someone or receive calls from others, I can't hear any voices come out from my phone, even the "connecting" sound. But when I turn on loud speaker or use earphone, I can hear the voice. How can I solve this problem?

Hi @Ruyi_Huang,

Welcome to the community.

I'm sorry to hear this. It sounds like your ear speaker isn't working correctly. I recommend that you test your ear speaker in the diagnostics tool in your Xperia M5. You can do that under: Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Ear speaker. How does the speaker work in this test?

I'd also recommend that you try and reboot your device to safe mode to see if this behavior is caused by one or more of your downloaded apps as these will be temporarily disabled in this mode. How does the ear speaker work in this mode?

Let me know how it goes!

I had tried both normal mode and safe mode, but still does not have sound for the testing of ear speaker.

If you are still experiencing the same behavior in safe mode, I recommend that you do a software repair using Xperia Companion.

If the speaker is still behaving the same way after doing a software repair, I'd suggest that you get in contact with your Local support for assistance with having your device sent in to an authorized service center for repair.

After trying the software repair, the ear speaker still not functioning.

So maybe I need to send it for repairing.

If it's the same even after a software repair, I suggest you get in contact with your Local support team for assistance with having your device sent in to an authorized service center for repair.
