My Xperia M2 Dual phone is almost 3 years old.Recently it has started giving me a charging problem.
When I connect the charger to the phone it charges for 1 sec and then doesn't charge at all, I tried rebooting but same problem. It does not charge even when switched off. I thought the battery may be faulty but it discharges at the same speed as before.
I reset the phone just in case and then I lt started charging at extremely slow rate (4%-60%) in 5 hrs and if you disconnect the port then the same problem starts again.
Please suggest how to fix it
Yeah I did. I tried a 2 ampere charger and an HTC and a Samsung USB cable.
I also tried that connecting to my laptop nothing works... Same problem
This looks like a hardware issue, so I'd strongly advise that you get in contact with your Local support and discuss the issue with them, as they are well-informed about your region's warranty terms more than us on this global, user-based forum.
But if it is a hardware issue then why does it charge when I perform a factory reset????
Maybe because you're removing all apps thus reducing the power consumption to its minimum, so if you want to give it a last try then try performing a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory, which is better than simple factory resets. Don't forget to backup using Xperia Companion, but preferably without adding apps or settings to the backup.

Tried that too...Didn't do anything than to lower my remaining battery from 40 to 20%.
I don't know what else to do.. Please help
