I have missed call showing on home screen when I open it to clear it,it stay there, I have tried turning the phone off for 10mins, but when the phone reboots the missed call is still showing, have tried software reinstall which got rid of it but the next time I missed a call same problem.
Any ideas on how to sort this out its rather annoying
I have this too!! It's super annoying.
Any help would be greatfully received!!
Hi @Diddyd2 and @NikiH259, Sorry for the late response but let me see if I can help out here!
If your device has the Google Phone app and not the Xperia phone app, this behaviour will be fixed in a new update for the application that will be released and available in the Google Play store around October 21-25, so keep an eye out there.
If the phone application icon is blue and the phone inside of it is white, you have the Google phone app.
Let me know if you have any further questions!
I now have this problem on a brand new Xperia L3.
There is no option in the Google Play store to download a newer version of the app. Has this fix worked ? I am in a 14 day cooling off period so can return the phone if it's not fixed.
Hi @JeffChiel, sorry to hear that you are affected by this as well.
We have heard of some users still experiencing the missed call notifications that will not go away. It is under investigation and planned to be fixed in a future update. I apologize for the inconvenience meantime.
Let me know if you have any further questions!
Thanks for the response. I have posted another question in the L3 thread about the album notification continually showing. It appears you have to go to "force stop" to get rid of this. There doesn't appear to have been any Sony response to that thread at all
So I very hopefully downloaded the software update today, but there does not seem to have been any fix to the ongoing problem. Still unable to remove the bl;lue circle showing missed calls from the icon on the home screen. When will it be fixed ?
Hi again @JeffChiel,
I am sorry if my previous response was a bit unclear. According to the information I have received, this behaviour is caused by the phone app manufactured by Google, not the system itself. The behaviour in question is planned to be fixed in an update of the Google Phone app which started to roll out yesterday.
Keep in mind though that app updates are released at different times depending on the operator, market, region or country. Therefore, I cannot give you an exact date for when a specific update will be available for your device.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks for the response - appreciated. Should I try deleting the Google phone app and reinstalling ?
Thank you @JeffChiel for the quick response.
I do not believe that deleting the app and reinstalling it is helpful or possible. The only thing that I can advise is to keep a lookout in Play Store for available updates to the Google Phone-app.
