Hi All,
I have an STR-DG500, I have connected an optical cable to my pc for the sound (of course) and another input to my TV (Samsung UE49MU6470). Speakers acoustics solutions AV-120
The issue is every time I am playing any media from my computer and the volume is too high then I get a power-protect message. When I turn it on again my TV goes off and on again for a slipt second?
So I check my cabling from my speakers to the receiver to make sure nothing is touching.
I have also had to make sure where I have my computer plugged into the main wall.
on my main wall where I have my TV mounted, there are two main power sockets. one has an extension cable has my TV, PS3, receiver, and skybox. and the wall socket I have my PC plugged in.
Could this be a power surge or spike coursed by the receiver? because this never has happened before?
Hi there,
Welcome to the Sony Community.
Can you let me know if you are using any HDMI cables?
Best wishes,
Sean Mc
no, I am not, just use the receiver for audio, and this model does not have any HDMI.
I'm using HDMI from computer monitor to my pc. and tv to my console and sky box
