Old videos need to transfer to computer. I have that camera, win10 pc with DeLOCK 89864 firewirecard and 6to4cable. How or is it possible to transfer those videos to pc anymore??
Hi @Jamppa1975,
your DeLOCK 89864 seems to be compatible with Win 10 so you might have luck. Win 10 normally does not support Firewire anymore. However, in case your card is working properly it should not be too hard.
You'd need a software which is is able to communicate with the camera via Firewire and which can control the camera. Most video editing software can do that still. However, I've always recommended and used Scenalyzer for years (freeware meanwhile) but lately a guy in the German community didn't have success with it but found a different programme which worked for him (can't remember and find which). Another one is WinDV and there's as well AVCutty which is still being developed. All those programmes are only used for the transfer. For editing and conversion you'll still need other programmes.
A few other points:
Hope that helps.

Thanks, I will try 👌
Not working 😞 Firewire-card is there with no errors and i have tried all three drivers to that and WinDv told me that no camera. Two cables tested and two dv cameras allso, my Sony and Panasonic NV-GS27E. Damn, I have to use that analogway (if you guys dont have better solution to this)... Allways have to be new and new 🤦♂️
Hi @Jamppa1975,
sorry for answering that late. Regarding the correct Firewire driver you'll need to enter Windows' device manager and check the driver which has been installed. If within the name of the driver it reads "legacy" you should get it working. Most of the old programmes which I mentioned are expecting a legacy driver.
Here's a description of how to install that driver in Win 10 including a link to download the relevant installation file from Microsoft. You might check beforehand whether the driver is available on your system anyhow by opening the device manager and then following the steps on the linked page, starting with number 8.
Here's a different page with much more information (maybe too much for your purpose) including a thorough explanation of the installation procedure for the driver.
This old driver often works perfectly even with modern Firewire cards. Hope that this helps.

Hi Jamppa1975, let us know if you had any luck, I have myself but I will have to get a lot of stuff if I wanted to go for it.. So waiting for your results
Hello and sorry for late answering but now, MAYBE NOW?? There is no "do it this way" and its works... earlier posted installation quide works (it was very good guide) and i had done it earlier. Now i was plugin and unplugin cabels several times, there was some times bling blong sound but nothing else. So computer found somethin sometimes with that Panasonic, but with Sony there was nothing at all. Sony shows only "DV in" on that own little screen when cable was connected but there was not connection bitween cam and computer? So question, why Pana works but not Sony?? At the end when everything was ok, stars and planets was right places, windows was automatic started to asking import video and so on
That again might fall under compatibility issue, but you might want to check this as well: http://bit.do/fUbFJ.
