Sony Bravia error message with Freeview Play connection

Hi

I don't use Freeview on my Bravia as it's only connected to my WiFi network. Now for some reason I'm trying to access BBC iPlayer and other UK channels and I'm getting an error with Freeview Player at the top of the dialog. The error shows "Oops connection error - code: FVP-03-023".

I don't want to connect to Freeview so I disabled the app.

Still getting this error. Given up now as I need to do some work.

Am I alone with this situation?

Hi @PeterPeartree

Would you please let us have the full model number of your TV, it will start with KD or XR.

To use the iPlayers you probably need YouView or Live TV & Catch Up (depending on your model number) enabled. There is no need to use these Apps, just have them enabled.

Hi

Your helpful support staff member walked me through the process patiently. In the end I had to revert to factory settings. All was well after that.

Hey @Zennaman

Have you tried unplugging your TV from the mains for at least 2 minutes and testing it again without any external devices connected?

Did you check also if other apps can access the internet?

All remedied after an 'unplug'.  Thank you.

Hello PeterPeartree and also LightFoot,

I too have had the same error message only today on my Bravia TV Model KD-32W800, so I decided having spent ages going through the TV to ensure it is up to date, it must relate to the Freeview App(s).

I have used the Freeview channels (Android) and also the Wi-Fi catch up channels without the problem until recently, and my current issue covered by the same code is that the MENU for the Android programmes is empty - “No Information Available”.

Today I managed to chat online with a person called Jason at Freeview, told him and gave him this code, asking him what it was (no explanation).  He asked me to do yet another channel retune (the third or 4th in a week), and then the menu re-appeared.

I told him this had happened before - but was lost again within half an hour.  This has happened today; it’s gone again.
the Freeview Programmes are all there and OK; just no MENU.  Both your issue and mine have the same code so I thought I’d mention it.

Ive given up today; will maybe resume tomorrow.
