Imaging Edge Privacy Policy Problems

I have recently re-installed Imaging Edge Desktop. When I try to open it, I get a message asking me to confirm acceptance of the privacy policy.  When I click on 'accept' nothing happens and the software does not function. I have tried deleting the software and re-installing but I always get the same result.

Can anyone advise me on how to overcome this problem?

@MFimage Try the following:

  • Restart your computer.
  • Upgrade Imaging Edge Desktop to the latest version. (Launch Imaging Edge Desktop and click the [Update] button, if displayed.)
  • If a USB cable was provided with the camera, use the supplied USB cable.

Many thanks for this feedback. I tried this solution but, in this instance, it did not initially work. However, I did find reference elsewhere to repeating this procedure several times. I also reached out to Sony who helped me check some possible issues. It was thought it might be a firewall or VPN related problem. However, the software generally downloaded fine, it was just the 'Agree & Proceed' request that I could not get past. One possibility is that Norton Private Browser was blocking the download - but this only happened once over several downloads, so I suspect this was probably not the issue. What may have finally got me past 'Agree & Proceed' in response to the request to accept the privacy policy was repeatedly clicking on 'Agree & Proceed' in quick succession. When I did this everything started up correctly on both my desktop and laptop.

So not a definitive answer to what was going wrong: it could be a firewall type issue; it could be something else in my set up; it could be that for some reason the 'Agree & Proceed' instruction was not getting from my system to Sony correctly; it could just have been some other anomaly. In any event, I'm, thankfully, up and running again.

I use Imaging Edge a fair bit and find it pretty user friendly.
