Xperia 10 vi broken by May 2025 update

After the security update for May (70.1.A.3.188), my phone will only connect to 2G networks, making it useless. i have tried selecting network configurations in the system menu and the dialer menu, but neither work; it will briefly connect to a 5G network then revert back to 2G.

Hi After upgrading to 70.1.A.3.188 firmware, my Xperia 10 Vi stopped working on T-Mobile US network.

The SIM information is shown as T-Mobile, but the phone says "No

service. Emergency calls only."

Data doesn't work.

The SIM works fine with calls and data with another phone.

Before installing this firmware, calls, data, and SMS worked fine with the 10 Vi on T-mobile US network.

I've seen other people's posts about this problem so I'm not alone.

I sincerely hope we can receive the fixed release soon.

Dunno if my case is due to that same update, but i noticed that devices wont find the hotspot on xperia 10 vi, if im using 5ghz option. Finding and connecting only works on 2.4 ghz...

Same issue here after the May update. Phone briefly connects to 5G, then drops to 2G. Hope Sony pushes a fix soon it's practically unusable right now.

July update arrived, no fix. i even did a factory reset but it didn't solve it.

Sony apparently couldn't care less about the American market, which is a real shame.

I don't see July 2025 update info here yet: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/software/00343564

And i don't see your point. The update is live regardless of documentation.

Sorry, I just wanted to see some information on the latest update; that's why I checked.
I've been using another phone for two months as my 10 vi is not usable on

T-mobile USA network. So I haven't checked live update.

Anyway, I'm sad to hear that the problem hasn't been fixed. 😞

i don't think they're going to fix it, making this phone a $450 loss. It's a shame, as i really liked it as a daily driver - perfect in every way.

I like it too.  I've been using various Xperia for the last 10 years in the US.

I hate to give it up. 😢
